I just finished polishing and waxing my baby. Now it is pollen season. Left the car in the parking lot for the day and it turned yellow ! Doesn't look good on the black rose !!

I really wanted a yellow Vette but I never thought of this as being the reason why :L

Gotta love pollen season. It's almost as nice as love-bug season:D Red with black specs is a sharp looking color combo too.....

Yep!

Yep, did the same with mine 2 weekends ago.

Luckily I have a yellow one! :D

But on the other hand, insects & other dirt are more "visible"...

And insects just LOVE a yellow car. Like moths to a flame.

Hi Ho Silver

I love my quicksilver paint. Besides being one of the most conservative colors (perfect at my age) - it is also very forgiving during pollen season. Just don't leave the top down because that black leather looks very bad covered in yellow dust.

:cool

I had a yellow Corvette...and what it looked like during pollen season was green!!

I have owned many many Corvettes. My 1992 Black Rose Vert with white top and white leather was a stunner. I remember being in the 1992 Bloomington Gold Show road tour staging area and SWARMS of people were looking at my car. She was a real beauty. She will be my "one that I shouldn't have sold" story.

You need>>

Get a California Duster from Walmart and you'll be set. You can lift that pollen off in under a minute! (as long as it doesn't rain on it.)

I think yellow looks great, but I would prefer the black rose. Of course, Polo Green Metallic is by far the best color for a Corvette. ;)

The main reason I like the black rose is because it's almost purple which is what color my Camaro is.

Dave, how long have you had the '95? I've seen your big block Camaro a couple times at Doubles. Would be interested in seeing the Vette as well. :D

I hate it when you have the morning dew mix with the pollen. You get a green slime that smears as you drive arround.

I agree - Live Oak tree droppings, Pollen, Love Bugs, and recently SAND from the beach -
Never ends.
I finally just started leaving my garden hose hooked up full time.
Easy to hose and shami the vette before taking her out for a spin.

Garage will be ready in a month - so she gets a new home too!

Rain

Pollen season ended here a month or so ago. A worse problem has been the (what I call) "tree worm" seed strands that seem to breed all over everything. Now it's just overwhelming heat and humidity until early October.

Sounds like I am better off with the polin vs H&H

I think they say it will last another 10 days or so? It sounds like we will have rain for the next 5 days. The beast stays in the garage for now. Hope the rain washes the dust out of the trees !!

Gorgon:

I don't recognize your login name. :confused

I've had my Corvette for about 3 months now. I love it. It's basically stock, however... and I am trying hard to keep it that way even though I have alot of LT-1 goodies from when my Camaro had the LT-1 in it.

I'll try to bring it by one Wednesday. It's a Polo Green coupe.

BTW: We meet Friday night at the Denny's on Wickham near Sarno. In front of the old WalMart there, the 50's diner type one.

Sorry Dave. I'm sure you don't recognize the login name, but I remember the car. I believe I met you once or twice through Ted B. You know that guy. ;) Rags on your car 'cause it's purple. I worked with him a few years back.

Anyway, I'll try to catch up to you on a Wednesday at Doubles or one Friday as I only live a couple miles from Denny's.

<--- You can see my car in my avatar. The pic is in Ballard Park with the Eau Gallie causeway in the background.

My S 10 is pewter colored so it's a little harder to tell when its real dirty. My biggest problem is when my mom leaves the cat in the garage!!!:mad But, my trusty California Duster did clean most all of the stinking foot prints off.
