I love these new tires! I purchased the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's. Finally I was able to mount my new rims and tires to my Vette and man what a difference!!!! These tires are so smooth and quite, none of that road roar that the old Gators had.

I got home early from work and mounted the front two wheels, the speed shop had mounted the tires in the wrong direction, so I could give my stressed out wife a little top down relaxation.

As I cruised down the main drag I noticed how quite the tires were but I was really impressed when I got on the highway and drove under an overpass. Normally the overpass reflex back the horrible roar of the old tires, but this time it was only a swoosh sound.

On the way home from the impromptu date with my wife, I was able to really open up the car to see how good these new tire stick, and they sure do stick!!! Man I was down the road with absolutely none of that screeching and fishtailing that I got with the old tires.

I’ll have to give you all another report next year to let you know how well these tires held up, but man I’m loving them so much right in the here and now.

:D :D :D

I have written about those tires several times. They are the GREATEST! You really have to experience them to understand. How about just the way the tread looks? Is the tread not the coolest looking tread out there? I believe so!

Save The Wave! :w

New tires makes it feel like you're driving a new car!:L It's so much smoother and quieter.:D

Congratulations on the new GY's. May I ask how much it hit your wallet for?

I purchased them from Tire Rack for $829.08; they were delivered the very next day and would have been on the car except for the SpeedShop installing 2 of the tires on backwards.

I try to support local stores but all of the ones I contacted in Frederick, MD said that they would have to special order my tires and that it would cost more and take about a week to have them delivered.

The money I saved going with Tire Rack I purchased a trolley jack, one of those fancy schmancy NASCAR types at Pep Boys, and a new torque wrench.

I bet it was one of your posts that pointed me to these great tires, thanks bigtime.

I have to agree, they look like almost organic; like the footpads of a speeddemon. ;)

The GS-D3 are incredible tires. I can't believe the stability and control in heavy downpours these things give me even in the big 315 rears.

These tires are fantastic in the wet. I have new GS-C's on the back and new GS-D3's on the front. Can't wait until I replace the rears with some GS-D3 and I'm trying to burn them off as fast as possible. :)

Thanks! :) Others have said that they are great in the rain but hopefully I won’t have to find out; unless I get caught by surprise, I try not to drive in the rain. :ugh

I hope the shop gave you a good deal on the installation. I know that a lot of those places don't like installing tires you didn't buy from them so they charge you a lot of $$$.

Actually it wasn't to bad. The shop uses a special tire mounting machine designed especially for alloy wheels. They also installed the balancing weights inside the wheels and installed chrome valve stems for less than $100.

the problem here is most people compare new tires to the old worn out tires. and that comparison is USELESS !!

you have to compare NEW to NEW, with is difficult for most of use !

True. On the other hand my "old" tires had about 10 to 20k miles left on them. I wanted to keep them just in case I ever wanted to do the NCRS thingie.

Compaired to the old gators, these new tires ROC!!!!

Pushed them into curves at very high speeds and have been very impressed.

My gawd. You had Gatorbacks? How old were those tires? Even when new, Gatorbacks weren't nearly as good as the last few generations of tires GY has made. But at this age, they must have been hard as rocks and just as slippery.

I, too, had heard great things about the GS-D3s but Goodyear has chosen not to produce them in the Z06 rear tire size. So when it was time to replace my F1 Supercars with a better wet weather tire, GY lost my business to Kumho.

I looked to get the GS-D3's on my C5 when the time came but they didn't have any in stock. I currently run Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position and these tires are as amazing as GS-D3 in my opinion. A little more expensive but they have worked well on the FRC which is my wife's daily driver and there's no end to getting caught in Florida thunderstorms during the summer months. Good wet traction. But just now checking Tirerack it appears that Bridgestone doesn't make these in a Z06 size either. :(

I put the F1GSD3's on in April last yr. When I bought the car 6 mths earlier the back tires were bald so I assumed the previous owner had been doing burnouts. I put 17 inch wheels on with the 11" wide rears. I had them mounted and aligned by a chevy dealer. Yesterday I had to replace the back tires because they were bald. I had put 9-10,000 miles one them. Apparently the dealers' mechanic didn't check the rear alignment. They were 17 degrees off. My mechanic says the rear wheels were so far out it had the effect of dragging the tires sideways. I drove the car to work today, 105 miles and its like a new car. I can actually hear the radio and the ride is much softer. I love these tires. They are a little expensive but I think they are worth it. I just wonder how many years the back end was out of alignment. Now I'm ready for Kentucky.

Was checking those tires out while at the tire dealer getting new tires for the wifes car. I definatly want them. And by the way, I put the new Goodyear Assurance tires on the wifes, they are truly an awesome tire too. Its an Intrigue , no hot rod , but the tires are 100% improvement over the Michelins. And yes I agree with the look of the F1's.:cool
