I need to know if there is a way to identify a date code on a 79 power antenna. I found one with the proper part # and year stamp (79), another number on the motor is 290. Could this be some sort of date code?? If any of you have original power units on your cars, I would be interested what #'s are on yours vs build date. Thanks, Kurt

I believe the motor has a year (79) and day (290) stamp. My orig 79 unit failed long ago and I replaced it with the generic service replacement from the Chevy parts counter. I put the orig unit away. When I found someone who could service the old, original one, I sent it to them. It finally came back working, but with a 84 date coded motor on it. Since I never recorded the codes from my original motor before I sent it out, I don't know what they were, so I can't offer any advice on the gap between the antenna dates and the build date. Hope this helps! Ken
