If I have someone on my butt, I will slow down to let them pass, but I have had several cases, where I slowed down, then they slowed down. I speed up , they speed up. That really ticks me off when I look in my mirrorr and only see grill. I had a SUV following me really close on the highway. No matter what I did he stayed on my butt. I would have put a couple of cars on him, but traffic was heavy. Then we both started getting off on the same off ramp. It was a 25 mph ramp and I slowed down to 45 and this guy was still there. I picked up to 55 and shot around the ramp. I could hear his tires squealing as he locked them up and drifted to the shoulder of the road. After he recovered, he stayed behind me for about 2 more miles, but at a distance.
Ha! Now that's funny! Serves him right...
So...
Where is the picture of the jaw-dropping hottie again?

echo, echo, echo, echo..... ever see the movie "GroundhogDay" ?
hahahahaha

I don't mind being passed... I'm going the speed I want to go... if someone wants to go (even) faster, I'm happy to have a canary.

However, crowding up on someone is not the way to ask politely to be let by. In fact, it's both rude and dangerous. It seems to me that people have forgotten about flashing your lights to ask to pass. To me, this is the polite way, and I am not at all offended on the rare occassion someone flashes me. I'll happily get out of the way.

Would that more people had your attitude, Skant. Last couple times I've flashed people (quick flashes, not solid brights), I've gotten slammed-on brakes for my troubles.

Cars have become too much of a power item. People feel powerless in their jobs, at home, at school, so they make up for it the one place they can - in the car, where blocking or road-raging is a power play.

I'm guilty of the occasional speed-up to prevent someone from passing, but it's usually someone who tries to pass on the shoulder or a merge lane (after moving over from behind me) or who can see that there is someone in front of ME preventing me from going faster, yet still insists on trying to squeeze past me on the right.

I have been getting this a lot. I let people pass me if I am not going fast enough for them then let them go, but the thing that makes me mad is when they fight to get in front of you to just drive slower then you were going, that is when I am not to happy.

First..., don't call YOURSELF stupid!!! Perhaps a miscalculation in judgement is more P.C. And WHAT ABOUT THE COP!?!! What the heck was the officer thinking!?!!!!! It seems that for some unearthly reason, people driving vans, station wagons, SUVs, pickups and pocket-rockets will get a particular bug up their rearends when they see a Corvette and feel they have something to prove. Maybe it's just plain ole envy and as a result it's "hey, look! The 20yr. old wagon my Mom gave me can outrun, outmanuever that Vette you're in---see?!!! My fart can exhaust, decals and oversize spinners prove it!"

Sometimes I just shake my head and leave their a**es on the vanishing point--behind me IF I'm on the Interstate and traffic is almost non-existent. Most times, I just let them have that miniscule pleasure cause we both know the Vette is the faster car.
