ID tag in the door jam

Does anyone know if the ID tag in the door jam is originaly riveted on or held on by screws.

On your car it was held on by pan head phillips screws. The very next year there was a change in the law that required more permanant attachment, and they were spot welded to the steering column mast jacket.
