Does anyone know where I can get an idle stop solenoid for my '72? I doesn't seem to be very consistent anymore. I use it to bump up my idle when the AC compressor is running, otherwise my car will die.

I just got one for my '72 off eBay for $12. It is a bit shorter & doesn't look like my original solenoid, but from the research I done I found that that there were 2 solenoids used...now I have both (my exiting one is broken).
But try Docrebuild.com, I think a new one is in the $30-$40 range.

Thanks Tonyk, I've seen some on ebay, but they look like they have a vacuum port on the end. Which one did you get? What brand or part number. Thanks for the info.

Looks like I found a suitable replacement at O'Reilley's auto parts. It was actually listed in their computer under 72 corvette! It's a borg-warner part # ESC49. It looks like the same part Holley lists and I think it will work. 23 bucks. I can always put the old one on for NCRS. Later.

hello, do you think that solonoid could be adapted to use as the idle speed sol, when the a/c is on?

I haven't had a chance to install it yet, but if it fits, it should work. That is what I use my old idle stop solenoid for. I just ran a wire from the AC clutch switch on the compressor. Works like a champ. I'm gonna be in training in may, so I won't get to this until june. I think it will work though.
