as most of you know, i've been waiting 9 months to get my car back from the paint shop. she should be done in about 10 days-2 weeks.
this morning i managed to break my right arm which means i can't drive a 4-speed or non-power steering car.
now, after Baby gets home she will have to sit for 2 more months until i can drive her. i'll even have to have a friend drive her back from the shop to my house when she is done.
after all this time waiting, waiting, and waiting, my wait to enjoy her just got longer............ :cry
sigh!!!!!!

oh........it wasn't easy typing this one fingered either. at least i'm left handed

That's really a tough break Barry. Can I ask how you broke your arm?

Here's hoping you have a fast recovery. Baby is waiting.

a dumb and stupid thing........slipped and fell on a wet hardwood floor. my arm broke my fall - the floor and my body broke my arm ;LOL

Barry,
I really don't know what to say?? That's a very unfortunate turn of events.

Even to only drive in a straight line for a few yards, you deserve the first moment in that car when it's done. Sorry about your luck.

paul

not much to say i guess, but thanks.

i guess i only posted because i'm so mad about such a stupid thing and needed to vent a bit

the thought went thru my mind, believe me, but i'm not risking it. the car means too much to me and i went thru too much of a wait at the painters to run the chance of ANYTHING happening because i can't wait until i am capable of driving her.

well, there ARE two bright points in this if i look deep enough:
with the price of hi-test gas i'll save a bunch of $$ by still not being able to drive her and i'll save that first new rock chip in the new paint for a couple of months more

I can sympathize with you. I fell a year and a half ago and my shoulder still isn't right. It's only been in the last couple months and a new doctor that I have regained near full range of movement. I didn't need a whole floor though. I found the one little 3 inch wide strip of ice on a large lot at a customer's site. Talk about feeling stupid.

this was from a small wet spot on the floor from that stuff that kids blow and make bubbles. sure is slippery stuff. i guess it's mostly some kind of soap mixture.

have someone go with you and have them shift. I do it all the time when im on the phone. all you have to do is press int he clutch.

Barry, Sorry to hear of your bad luck, But your arm will heal and your car will be waiting for you. We take so much for granted, hope your special day comes soon..Good luck.

true, but i still can't steer the car (non-power steering) with any one arm well enough to feel safe doing it. i'm not risking it. just keeps me having something to look forward too i guess

Barry

Sorry for your fall and misfortune.

I dont know what to say.

I was actually afraid to read what had happened to you or your car.

Get well soon,If its any consulation I have broken alot of bones, they all eventually heal.

Barry,

Sorry to hear about the broken arm. One day you'll look back on all this and laugh. Unfortunately - that day is still a ways out!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thom

this isn't my first break. i think it's #6 by now.
yep, when i posted i figured most would think it was yet another problem with the car. my wife just told me 15 minutes ago that she thinks the car may be cursed! ;LOL
