I have silver C6 with 1SB without the nav option. I have made many MP3 cd's to listen to as I drive. My question is what are the limits on the Random mode? I have a cd with 113 songs on it and it plays the same 10 "random" songs no matter what. I have taken the cd out overnight and put it back in the next day and choose a song, listen to it for awhile then select random and it plays the same 10 "random" songs. Does this happen to anyone else? Any ideas what I can do to get random to be random.

if it is a early car you need to get the radio reflashed because of a program glich. my C-6 would not play all CD when set on random till GM installed a new radio at the C-6 owners clinic in bowling green over the weekend. the reason they had to install a new radio mine went belly up when the tried to a reprogram. GM had the guys from seimems there because that is who makes the radio modules
don't like to be bearer of bad news, but the CD player with the Nav system does not play MP3's. I have had two customers with this issue, it was my original understanding that all systems would play MP3's. I checked the invoice on one of our cars and it shows on the invoice that MP3 is not available with Nav. That was the only place I was able to find that out (I'm not a sales manager so I don't see the invoices). One of my customers told me that the owners DVD even talks about the capability of the Nav system to play MP3. My customer emailed GM and we both called and were informed directly from Customer Relations at GM that the Nav system does not have MP3 capablity. No word as yet on a fix. If you would like the contact info I have for GM let me know.
You are right if you get the Nav system it WILL NOT play MP3 files, really really stupid on the part of GM, WOW that's a shock, anyone out there found a 3rd party system that can be added to the existing Nav system that will play the MP3 stuff?
thanks
I do not have the NAV option, as stated in my post. What would be considered an early model? My C6 was made in Jan 05, vin 13905. Would reprogramming fix the cd randoming?
I have a 2007 Z51 with the Nav system. It does play MP3 files but in Random it loops on the same 10 or so songs. Also when you manually select to go to the next song it will start the same song over again until you hit the selector 2 or threee times. If you display the songs and touch select from the screen it plays a different song. I have 56 songs burned but the screen on shows 30 songs. I take the same CD to my wife's ford Edge or to my home unit and it plays it correctly. Playing a store bought CD plays correctly. Any ideas on what's up with this, is the way I'm burning or is it a firmware issue?
