I am in need of a few pictures of the 1963 340HP engine. I would like pictures of the wire clips that fastened to the intake and the fuel filter mount.

I also change the rubber mounts (sombreros) for the differential carrier (cross member) and I am having trouble getting them to seat fully. The frame is new and the same company that manufactured the frame supplied the rubber mounts.
Thanks for any help!

Ray

I would think Colin (EBVette) would be your man for this, as he has a 63 nicely done as a 340 hp, and knows all about the little details

Yep, That is the reasons I posted the question on the site. Collin has a great looking 63 340HP.

Thanks Ray

Here's a shot of Collin's engine that he sent me and is posted on my website along with severl others. Up to the output side of the filter is exactly identical to my 63 FI.

Also, on the CHASSIS 3 page of my website there are a number of pictures of the chassis and rear crossmember. Unfortunately no real close-ups but perhaps you can see something to help you there.

Ray, do you mean you can't get the new cushions to seat in the differential crossmember so you can bend the tangs, or you can't get the top end of the cushions to seat fully in the "sombrero" formations on the frame crossmember?

John,

I can't get the top end of the cushions to seat fully in the "sombrero" formations on the frame crossmember?

Project 63 & Joe

Thanks for the pictures.

Project 63; does the intake stud bolt for attaching the filter attach to the second from the front bolthole.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Yes it does. In fact, you can see the head of the 1st intake bolt in the picture that Joe posted. Filter bracket goes under the head of the second intake bolt on the right hand side.

heck, me and my 65 L76 coud have gotten that one right, one thing that wasn't unique to the 63 . . . . .

Ray, the photo below shows as close to "seated" as they're going to get without the full weight of the car on the wheels (when the spring pushes the diff and its crossmember and bushings up against the "sombrero" formations on the frame crossmember and compresses the bushings). In the condition shown, the diff crossmember is "hanging" from the frame by the bushings, and the bushings aren't "compressed" against the frame.

Thanks! John

I just removed the cross member and measured the depth of the cup and the frame receiver. The cup measured 1 1/4" deep and the receiver(frame) measured 1 1/2" . I should have taken measurements prior to assembly. I just mounted the new trailing arms and hope to install the differential this evening. Thanks for all your help!

Thanks Collin,

I think I have all the information that I need, others members have provided pictures, even of your 340HP, but if you have the time to take a few close up photos of the fuel filter mounting bracket and the vacuum line bracket it would be of help.

Thanks for the help!
