I am going to replace my injectors in my 89 vette. What gaskets and other misc. parts do I need????? Any hints or guides would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't done it on an L98, but assume it isn't much harder than the LT1. The new injectors should have rubber O-rings on them already, and should be ready to go.... The task is very simple and straight forward (in most cases).... Good luck

You will need a set of runner gaskets. Remove the gas cap, and depressurize the fuel system by using the schrader valve and some rags. Pull the plenum, then the runners, then the rails.

Remove the clips out of the old injectors and put them on the new injectors. Make sure all old o-rings are out of the rail before installing new ones. Use some sort of lubricant (wd40, MP etc..) to put on the o-rings before installing them into the rail, this helps prevent tearing of the o-rings.

If you do not have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, now would be a good time to install one.

You may find that once you are in there you might want to replace the injector retaining clips with new ones. I just did my injectors on my 89 with 133k miles on it and I needed new clips.

The p/n is: 1711-1267

They come in a pack of (5) for about $6 from the dealer.

What a brilliant quantity for a car that has 8 injectors, hah? :crazy

Replace mine on my previous 90 and on my 89 this spring. Had fun doing it. Replace a lot of thing since I was taking so much apart. You may want to at least clean your TPI since it is disassembled, replace the coolant hose, coolant, thermostat. I rebuilt the fuel regulator too. The distributer was real handy to work on, so I replaced the cap and wiring. Had to then put in new plugs with new wires, right? When I got done it idled like S@#T. The ECM idle circuit decided to go bad at this exact time. After replacing the ECM with a $10 unit from the bone yard, it now runs GREAT. Again it was really fun!!
