Hi guys.........trying to get wipers working on my 69. Wiper door opens fully (depresses limit switch), fuse OK. Three terminal connector has 13+ volts on it with wiper switch on (one other terminal has zero volts, the other has 0.2 volts on it). But no electrical activation. I have reviewed the Wipers Operation & Diagnosis service bulletin, which references figures and terminal numbers that don't make sense (and the figures are not included with the bulletin, unfortunately). Any ideas, or does it just sound like I need to replace the motor?

Thanks!

Ernie

Mine is kinda like that too. I pressed on the harness and they started working. They stopped again the next day though.

Sometimes if you wack the motor it will come on for a while. Electric motors often get a dead spot. If you can bump it past the dead spot it will turn on its own. You'd still have to replace it soon though.

You could also unplug the harness then apply 12v to the right connector and see what happens...

I've found a lot of wires under the hood are rotten. The plastic is broken and the connectors are rusted beyond repair.

GM wiper motors have 12V on them all the time, and speeds are controlled by grounding the circuits AT THE SWITCH; make sure you have a good ground at the switch. If your center panel is cracked (which many are), you may have lost the switch ground.
