I just took my 1980 out of storage, after receiving it as a gift last fall. The paint looks great, but the embloms on the back bumper, the gas cap cover and on the hood are missing. There aren't any holes drilled in any of the locations. I know where to buy the replacement embloms, but there has to be some time proven tricks to help a novice install them, Any advice would surely be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

On my '82, which I believe would has the same mounting-style as your '80, the gas-cap door and rear 'corvette' name use small 'acorn'-nuts that screw onto the emblems
(the word 'corvette' has a small brace that is installed inside the bumper ):

I've not had the nose-emblem off either of my Sharks.

The nose emblem has a self adhesive strip on the back that is peeled off before it is put on. The emblem also has two small locating pins on it that help you locate the emblem on the nose piece. The nose piece should have these holes in it so you can properly locate it. Sounds like these holes are covered up on yours? If you have access to an assembly manual I believe it will give you the preicse location of the emblem. Good luck.

MARK

the gas lid should have two holes in it. the emblem is held on by a couple of nuts on the underside of the gas lid

the nose should have two holes in it for emblem. The front emblem is held on by tape. the holes are for alignment
