I am new to Corvettes and have acquired a 1968 427 big block in pretty good shape. Am in process of getting minor things working. Do not have any instrument panel lights. Have checked all fuses...not an easy task unless you are 3'6 or shorter. It appears that any further checking will require pulling the lower part of the dash. Any suggestions on what the problem might be??

Had the same problem with my 63 when I bought it, ended up being a bad light switch, good place to check anyway, good luck

When I got my 77, none of the ip lights worked. I thought since they were all out it had to be a fuse or switch. Turns out all the bulbs were burned out. Its such a PITA to replace the bulbs that some people are less than motivated to replace them.

Hi

Do you know that this lights can be dimmed to very dark ?
Turn the light switch clockwise and with the lights on, the instruments will hopefully shine bright.

Good luck. Gunther

I only had about three bulbs working on my instrument panel before the rebuild.when i took it apart , there was corrosion on tips of the bulbs and on the contacts in the sockets.I cleaned them off with sandpaper and all but two worked, they were burnt out.worth checking, mike
