I'm not sure where to post this?
I tried the General Automotive Discussion Board.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Grundy Insurance?
My car is insured with Hagerty right now, but I can save quite a bit by switching to Grundy. I've also checked out American Collectors and they fall inbetween the others.
Does anyone know of any other companies provding insurance on show/classic cars?
Any feedback would be apreciated :thumb

Grundy is a good company, I don't use them, but a friend of mine does for his 70 hemi challenger R/T Conv. that is going through restoration now.

From what I understand , Grundy will insure cars under restoration.

I've had two vettes with Grundy. Never filed a claim. I currently have one vette with them. The best part is the unlimited mileage.

Have Leeland West for 10 years. Never had a claim however very reasonable rates that have increased only $27.00 in 10 years. Have 5,000 miles a year included. If the rate starts low and increases 10% a year in no time the rate is not competitive.

Cut your premiums by 40% - carry a $1K deductible. You will get your $1K in 3 6-mo terms. SAVE IT, AND DO NOT TOUCH NONONO!!!

I have the same on my 69 GTX Conv. and the Vette.

I have had the GTX with them since 1996. I believe the underwriter is American Modern home Insurance Company.

American Collectors Insurance for the vette which was highly recommended by Amica. They even have a special phone number for Amica customers.

Ive got Hagerty myself and Im thinking about making the switch to Grundy.

Well, The switch has been made. I ended up going with Grundy and saved over $100 per year. Hopefully I'll never have to find what the claims service is like.
I think if "Ruby" ever was damaged my girlfriend would tear the other driver to pieces.:r
She is more protective of the car than I am and that is probably a good thing.
Thanks for all the input.

Grundy scared me off

Hope you have luck with them! I got an quote awhile back and they scared me off with an additional rider on the policy, not sure if your's has it. I tried to find it for exact wording but I think I threw it out. It was poorly worded and confusing.
It was a sheet you had to sign stating that the car would be for pleasure use and never be driven to work or used for driving to school or other errands.
So....I cant occassionally drive my vette to work, pick up the kid at school or go to the grocery store in it even if I find that pleasureable?
It seemed to just be one more way they could weasel out of a claim.
THATs the REAL TEST....I'd like to hear from people who HAD TO FILE A CLAIM!:ohnoes

Ive got Leland-West which is a broker for American Modern Insurance on one of my cars and they suck.My car got smacked by a public bus in February.I had my Ins company take acre of it and its been nothing but grief, both from the bus company AND from AMIC.I got paid minus my deductible which the bus company is fighting to pay. There is representative from AMIC thats trying to get the NCM to offer coverage for Corvettes.I feel for anybody that has insurance form American Modern Insurance Company and needs to file a claim, good luck. The bright side to all this grief,I almost look my ZR-1 out for a drive on this day,had that car been damaged,Id be in jail right now.
