intake manifold choices

is there much difference between the Accel SR base manifold and the TPIS/Edelbrock "Bigmouth" other than price?

I got the BigMouth. I think the diameter is larger, and I did some P&P on them as well.

Did you port the ports that go into the heads?

Don't forget about the Edelbrock intake manifold. I've heard from more than one person that there is no difference in the Edelbrock and TPIS manifolds. Matter of fact, someone even told me that the TPIS piece isn't even made by TPIS and it has the same stamping number!

Actually the stuff was all hogged out when I got it, I just did a little more and polished it up pretty good for many an hour I can't locate a pic of the other side of the intake right now, but I bought the SR, large tube runners and the BigMouth in a package frfom a guy in Mass. who wanted to get from 11's into the 10's :crazy

What kinda RPM's can you expect from that set up? More, or less than the M/ R.? And isn't hood clearance an issue w/the M.R.? Thanks.

The MR makes it power at a higher RPM.

No, hood clearance isn't an issue with the MR. The MR is pretty much the same thing as the LT1/4 intake.
