Geek's 65

I had my exhast manifolds ceramic coated and they are perfect. So the other day I obtained a correct intake manifold for my car and before I change it over, I am toying with the idea of getting it coated as well. Any reasons why I should not do that? Thanks.

I think the purists might object, but i think that is an excellent idea. The finish should last forever and be easily cleaned. My '65 is a driver also and I like it that way. What color blue is yours?

Thanks for the input. I stripped the manifold and took it in yesterday. The purists will be happy that it is being coated GM orange so it should look right - just be easier to take care of. My car is a Nassau Blue but with a light, small metal flake in it. Or at least that's what the painter told me when I had to have a bit of body work done after being hit in a parking lot by a girl on a cell phone.

My '65 was originally Nassau Blue when it came from the factory. The more I look at them, the better I like that color. I would also be tempted mightily to add not just a little metallic or pearl to the paint AND keep a half gallon for possible use later. Either that or have the exact mix formula.

Mine is a non-Vette shade of red/with orange and I have been unable to ID the color or mix. So I can not get a touch up paint for the rock chips, etc.

I think a good paint shop could match it. Might take some work on their part. The guy I had was a perfectionist and he painted the rear fender area three times before he was happy with the match. (Color was right but the metal flake content wasn't according to him). You bet I got some paint for chip repair.
