Well the motor will be torn down today or tomorrow hopefully. My question is should I ask for the intake manifold and do a little porting on it, or leave it alone? And if I do port it out a little what exactly should I take off? Thanks

Justin

Always looking to go faster. I just hope you get the damn thing done this time. Who cares as long as the thing is back on the road. But while you are at it will you port mine too.:)

Craig

Well since it was going to be off the car I just figured it would kind of be a waste to not do it, then later down the road have to pull it off thats all.

Justin

basically all you do is cleanup the plenum and match the runners and throttle body. with alittle puddy or a heavy black marker that will mark the side you need to port then cut the excess out.

look up "Siamese" this technique is also simple to do. basically just measure 1 inch back down the runner and on the base and 1 inch across then draw a triangle and port that out so it's even on the runners, base, and plenum. hard to explain really as i just got back from the nudy bar and am alittle drunk :D

i'll be doing mine this coming week and will do a write up with pics about the procedure :)

Got a dremmel or other implilment? PORT PORT PORT! I'll try to post a pic. Just do it, you got nothing to loose. Then take some fine wet dry sand paper and POLISH. It will take a lot of time to do a nice job, but what else do you have at this point? Really you should siamiese (sp) your runners too, as long as you got the time and inclination if you're not gonna do any other high dollar mods. Port the intake too and kick your Bro's ass when it's all over with ;) :) ;LOL :w

That is exactly my thinking too. I might take a ride over there today after school and see if he has it off and pick it up, and take a look at it to see what if I should try to port it or not. I am sure I wont get any positive feedback from the bro, since I am making my car faster..haha:L .

Justin

Mic,

Did you say that you're going to have pics and writeups from the nudy bar?:L

The stock TPI intake really sucks! It was designed for the 305. Is a ported stock intake adequate for street driving? TPIS claims that even a fully ported intake doesn't stack up to their Big Mouth.

Ok justin what are you porting, the plenum again? Or are you talking about the intake manifold. Either way you will be seeing my brake lights, from either car, as soon as I get that damn Qjet tweaked right.

Mic, a write up of the nudy bar, and the technique you used would be greatly appreciated.

Craig

Sorry jay I just read you thread title. I guess you are porting the manifold.

Hey man!!!! Cut a bro some slack you've got a 105 cubic inches on me. I want a head start :upthumbs .

Justin

Ok, the evil brother is telling me now that I have no clue what I am doing and that I will probably f*&^ something up and that I should just leave it alone. Should I listen to him or not haha?

Do it! Been done a million times, I used to have some great info with pics of it linked, but that other skanky forum updated their site and trashed hundreds of bookmarked info. JUST GONE FOREVER if you can believe that. That was the FINAL straw for me, but I was pretty much gone anyway :mad

I ported and polished my Big Mouth intake and large tube runners, but did not siamese them. Time consuming but really opened them up and smoothed them out.!

Well I definetly want to pick it up and take a look. I stopped by today and there must have been a miscomunication on my part, because I thought he had already started tearing it apart, but nothing has been done. So hopefully I will be able to get it next week I would hope. What all should I get, the intake manifold and what else? Thanks

ok fella's here's the 6 golden rules of picking up strippers!
gr_pimp.gif

1. Don't be scared to talk to them and smile alot :)
2. Lie Lie Lie and LIE some more!
gr_grin.gif

3. Whatever your annual income is TRIPLE it! Refer to rule #2 ;)
4. Don't be tight on the cash. Be Generous everytime you see her tip her! Also refer to rule #1 and #2
thumbsup.gif

5. Tell her you'll take her to Cancun for a week! Again refer to Rule #2 :D
6. Once she takes an actual liking to you and not playing the stripper game then ask for her # but don't call it for a week! Go back to the club and start all over and when she asks about you not calling say "Oh damn I totally forgot! Work had me in Brazil this week and I just been too busy thats why i'm here now" After the eyeballs start to get bigger then say "I'll call you later this week" and leave it at that then start another conversation with her about football...lol throws them for a loop like your interested but not too interested.

Works every time

Uhhhm :eyerole That's not miscommunication my friend :( That is the shop lying to you about what they've done. They've had it for a while, right? This isn't a great sign for starters, you may have a lot of time to work on your intake.

Get the TB, plenum, runners, and intake.

Hey Mic some stripper just got her book out this week, heard her interviewed on Howard. How to Date a Stripper (I think), gave the same basic advise with the exception of 1 and 2 ;LOL
