I've ridden in C5s with the new C6 engine prototype alot lately. To describe it in one word: insane.
Ive ridden in Z06s countless times, and this is really nothing like it. It's so unbelievably controlled, yet so astonishingly fast and smooth. The raw brutality of the LS6 is completely gone. I just cant wait for the whole finished product.

The prototypes Ive ridden in have the 2005 6.0l LS2 in a chopped up C5 Z06. This is going to be the base engine in the C6, and will have 405 hp. It is true that it has the cylinder shut-off, and it's weird going 15 mph in a Corvette running on 4 cylinders.

Yes this is very true. Lets just hope this thing does not turn out to be another Cadillac V8/6/4. I can almost be certain it will be a service nightmare and the aftermaket will have a "bypass" device. as soon as MidAmerica Designs prints another catalog. :D

I agree, that cadillac flop is the last thing we need. Good observation about the "bypass". The best bypass I have is to get rid of that annoying CAGS, no more skip shift now.
