interior light problem

hi, i have a problem with my 73 vette, the exteriors lights works, the interiors lights works too when i open the door. But the gages lights doesnt works. If i turn the swich on nothings happen too. The fuse is good ...

Yes but how do you get the lightbulbs? What have kept me from getting into this is that it seems like the whole dash needs to be taken down...

I have the same problem in my 80. Ive taken the dash entirely apart and replaced all the bulbs and printed circuits for the speedo/tach and the gauge cluster. that didnt fix anything. i checked all the wires and fuses and they seem to be good. so i just ordered a new light switch and connecter. the switch went on fine, but the connector isnt wired the same as the old one...so im at a stand still...if this doesnt work, idk what else to replace besides the entire harness....... and im poor

Bad light switch. The rheostat will burn out with age.
