Anyone know how to release the wiring connector on the interior mirror? It's probably a secret of the General or requires a special tool.

Hi Barry -

The rearview mirror electrical connector should just pull off.

No special tools or technique listed in the service manual - volume 3 of 3 - page 8-808:

Rearview Mirror Replacement (Base)

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the inside rearview mirror electrical connector.
2. Loosen mirror mount tension screw.
3. Slide mirror up off the mirror bracket.

I know - I hate to force things, but nowadays interiors just "pop apart" and you have to pull and force things apart. Just doesn't feel natural to me....

Thanks, I have a habit of breaking things and hate to force it as you pointed out. That connector just wouldn't move, so I though there must be a release tab to use. THe mirror must have changed because I couldn't see any screws to release, it looks like a slide and snap fit, but it must take a special tool to release it. Thanks for the response, I'll just keep fussn' with it.
