The wiper on/off/intermittent control is a slider on the door. There's about an inch of movement but all the variability occurs in about the last 1/8 inch of travel, after that it goes to about a 30 second delay.

I've owned my 89 coupe since new. It's always had this issue and I'm wondering if anyone has found a fix. I remember asking when it was new and the dealer said "they're all like that"....sigh.

Thanks,

Tony

Well mine's not like that. I had a wide range of variability of response asnd full movement. Sounds like a bad switch, I think the switch is a variable potentiometer resistor) which controls the delay between wipes. Take it apart and check it out. It doesn't look like too much of a PITA to get it outta there. Hook the switch up to an ohmeter and check it's response. I'm sure others can give further guidance. i'm just noodling how I'd start examining it.

Tony,

Thanks, I'l try that. In chatting with a friend he has a Jeep with the same problem.....
