Question: Is a 96 back deck (quarter panel) fiberglass or something else?

According to the Corvette Cental catolague, the factory rear bumper on a 1996 Vette is Urethane. I am wondering what the rear deck or quarter panel is made of? Is it fiberglass or some other compound? I would have thought fiberglass, but not sure if by 96 GM was using another material.

I guess whatever it is, then, the rest of the body is the same material, except for the bumpers.

Just saw this in, Corvette Specs, 1984-1996 Models by Mike Antonick under 1997 models:
"All major body panels SMC reinforced composite with molded-in coating".

Guess that answers that sort of.................

Yeah Kinda,it's got fiber Glass strands in it,but you do have to use a special SMC Compound to repair it,Polyester Resin won't stick!
