Is Callaway flexible with their prices?

I plan to do their aerobody (within 12 months) and motor work (after college). This way I can have a Supernatural. Right now it looks like I need to drop the full price to get their kit. Did anyone actually get a price break? I know of a shop in my area that used to be a distrubutor of the aerobodies. I didn't want to get too deep into prices figures with this shop just yet. Does a price break... small if anything, actually exist?

From what I understand Callaway is no longer doing C4's and the only work they are doing on them is exsisting cars. I had heard that Reeves is getting more and more into European racing. I had heard this last year from them, but things change. I wanted to take my car in for and upgrade and at that time there was a 5-6 month wait. I would call them before you start planning on Aerobody and motor kits. As far as motor work goes in order to get the full blown SuperNatural package you have to have a motor with less than 1000 miles as they swap out the LT1 for their 383 stroker, at least that's the way they used to be and they didn't want a car with lots of miles and have to deal with the problems. But this was last year and they could have changed everything around....again..In fact I was going to be in the area and wanted to take my car in for a check up and when I called they were all either out racing or off site testing cars

They definitely seem to be getting further away from the C4s. Reeves is big into doing deals with major auto manufacturers now. That's where the money is. Like the Holden GTO in Australia, Mazda Speed Protege, Land Rover (Range Rover and Freelander) and others.

I believe what I was told last Fall was that they will pretty much do "Anything for a price". Far be it from them to stand between a fool and his money. So, good luck getting a discount on a SuperNatural package!

I'm pretty sure you can get an Aerobody but not at a discount. Believe me, I've asked for discounts on parts before and they laughed at me.

There are some parts that only Callaway would have, although most of the TT parts in their inventory is extremely low.
Once Callaway lost interest in the C4, it all went down hill from there. Technical aswell as parts.

Raysur, I do not know about a "discount" on an aerobody... I have seen 2 kits sell used (but "new") in the past year alone for 1/2 to 3/4ths what it is new but thats the exception here.
Are you looking to do a SNAT 450 engine? If so, they will either (re) build your motor or, swap (but if you have a ton of miles (as said before, I would doubt that... )

As far as Callaway Service, the Exceeded my expectations!!! For the work they did on my car, in the timeframe it was done, w/ 4 days notice, I was OVERWHELMED!!!
(Thanks Reeves, Joanne, Wayne, Jim and, John ;) )

Good luck w/ the project and keep us informed on the details :beer

.... discount?.... I wouldn't even suggest asking. The price is firm, and as others have noted, packaages may be extra-inflated if they offered to take an LT1 or ZR1 at this point. Honestly, I would stay away from the used packages unless I really needed a spare section, since they are sometimes "fit" to the car, despite the fact they come from the same mold. Some panels are shaved/sanded to get the proper fit - I saw them do this during my install......

Your right no discounts there. This past summer I bought new rotors, hats, fasteners and pads for the front for about 2 grand, not even a break on the shipping cost :)

Thanks for the replies. I've been thinking it over and i'm not sure Callaway is for me. I'm worried since the ZR1 molds are gone that the standard C4 molds will follow.

I don't want a exterior piece that is considered rare and hard to get. I came to this decision while driving home. A lot of people in a rush and talking on cell phones. If I wrecked that body I would kill myself.

Thanks again.

I agree, If you are looking for a car to drive to work and back, forget about an aerobody:nono I say this as I have driven mine one time in the notorious "Rush Hour" traffic in my area (which is by far, the WORST in the USA) I had my wife behind me in her car but driver STILL cut in between us as she didn't want to ride my tail either:r
At any rate, Don't rule out a Callaway as a car as they are avail with/out the bodies and would make quite a sleeper w/ a ton of history.
Good luck w/ your decision :beer

Raysur.....

noticed you are in So. Cal.....

I'll be at LACR in Palmdale Saturday for the West coast corvette challenge.... if you're nearby, stop by and check out the action.

Dave

Callaway95,
My car is going to the shop on Saturday. I'm sick of my code 26. I have tried to fix it but i'm giving up.

I would love to see your car in person. It would probably change my mind again:). In about 4 weeks my car will be ready to race. Hopefully I see you at another Corvette challenge.

*89x2*,
I definately won't rule it out. It will always be an awesome car in my book.
