Hey Everyone,
I think i have a problem with vapor lock. I have had 2 different carburetors give me the same problem: the car stalls, I pop the hood, the air cleaner is too hot to touch. I let the car cool down, and it starts with no trouble. One carburetor actually had fuel bubbling out of the secondary vent tube. I just assumed I had a stuck float, but now that I had the problem with my spare carb, i'm not sure.
The outside temps have been around 100 (today it was only 95 and it felt kind of good). Temp at the paint have been over 118 (I placed a thermometer on the underside of my T-Top and when it hit 118 i turned off the thermometer in disgust).
Is it just too hot for my car, or do I have 2 carbs with the same problem?
Thanks for the help!
