I was warned by the seller of my car that since my Zo6 has two gas chambers (9gal each) that the back pressure when filling the gast tank can shut off the gas nozzle. He said that when the first tank fills and it hasn't transferred to the other tank, that this will happen. I find that it happans almost of the time especially if there is say 1/4th tank or so left. Today it took me quite a few attempts to get the gas flowing without the darned handle clicking off on me. I found that when I turned the handle upside down (trigger in the air) and displaced the rubber seal on the gas filler tube, that the gas flowed fine. I did though accidentally overfill the tank and fortunately, there is a path for the gas to go out and not get on the paint. Anyways I was wondering if anyone has any better tips on how to fill the darned thing without not so much effort.

Thanks, Craig

Your gas filling problem is probably not be the cross over line, but the filler neck. Chevy has a fix out for that, the original flexible filler can collapse, causing a premature shut off the automatic nozzle. The dealer can replace the flexible portion with a better designed flexible filler neck section that won't collapse. That should solve your filling problems.

Do you think this would be covered under warranty? Might it be a technical service bulletin? I guess I do have to take it in to get the steering lock recall done anyways. I can perhaps get that done as well.

Mine shuts off the pump early at times. When I slow the flow of fuel being pumped into the tank, the problem stops. Set the pump handle one notch slower and see what happens.

Yes I think it's a TB, and yes again if your car is still under warranty it should be covered. That's what warranties are for.
You might want to check all the current TBs and recall information for your year Vette. That way you will have a better idea of what could be replaced and or adjusted free.

Good suggestion, I'll do that and go in there with a list.
