Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Its finally in paint

Larry, Are you going to blackout the fake intakes on either side under the headlights? I sanded mine with 400 and brushed on several coats of thinned out semi flat black enamel so I wouldn't have any brush marks. It worked fine. I just didn't want to deal with masking and overspray anymore.

Well I am not painting them yet,but I will use the method you described.I still need a transmission cooler for the car,I had chose not to use one in the radiator because of the a/c and the 454. So again I need to put the car back on the frame, attach the bumpers and brackets and see if I can stick a fan assisted trans cooler some how in the wheel well being feed fresh cool air through the fake vent whitch I hope to make real vents and solve a major problem I need to deal with,

You know I spend alot of time tarping, covering, masking, things to avoid over spray also.and I also find it nerve wracking

Looking good... nice caddy too!

Well the car is home in my garage. Some minor issues we have to deal with.

Unfortunately I have to work on saturday, and then I have to get out town to Florida on buisness (Orlando area) from the 13th to the 18th,(hopefull getting to exstend for the N.C.R.S show a couple of days ) So not much work will be completed in january except maybee aquireing some more parts.

Sundays project will be to get the 66,the SR111 frame, and the body on its dolly, switched around in the garages so that the body is on the lift, the 66 is under it and the SR111 is in my big garage.I want to put the body on the lift so that the paint cures. The garage is heated but as we all know hot air rises so I figure I mine as well have it in the warmest spot of the garage and also out of range of danger.

Someday, I hope we can get a few of our major-project cars together for a photo in some scenic location.
I hesitate to name them because I'll never include them all, but to start:
- IH2Lose ('62 yellow)
- richscorvettes ('62 red, '67 red/black stripe)
- John McGraw ('60 red)
- midyear ('67 black/red stripe)
- studiog ('61 red/white)
- etc. (there are more - sorry for not including you :D)

All of these cars have been 'complete' body-off projects and are new inside, outside and underside.

What a photo that would be.

You know Bob I look foward to the day,I am ashamed to say I was not falmilur with what the Cruise fest was.I definatley can not make that.

But from your list
studiog is a couple of hours north of me,Rich is 3 hr max east of me.so the three of us should be able to connect no problem,I think you are 6 hrs north of studiog,Dennis is south of me by about 11 hrs,
Mr McGraw is supposed to do the hot rod power tour this year maybee we should try and set a date or time when the power tour is on the east coast.I am not sure what direction they are starting from.Or we can all plan for cruisefest 2006.

Also as I know it Dennis and crew are always at carlilse, along with Rich and his wife. For sure I will be there with my wife in the C5 and me in the 62 so there may be another opertunity.

I have allready invited myself to John McGraws house the next time I have to travel to texas on buisness.

I would love to meet these people & their cars and others like 61silver who is probably 2-3 hrs away from me. That would be a great photo op and a great oportunity to say thanks in person to allot the people that helped me here on CAC. I'm sure our paths will cross.

This is a good photo of the body as we were unloading it into my garage.

I'm registered for the fun field at Carlisle. I saw Dennis, Rich and Barb there a couple or three years ago. It'd be great to get as many projects together for a photo as we could, but that won't be easy in all the commotion.

Let's not let this opportunity pass.

Suggestions please?

I will have to figure out how to register for the fun feild.

And count me in.

I actuall arrive in town on the tuesday before carlilse and spend the days between carlilse and hershey park with the family.

I leave carlilse on sunday morning after a swim in the pool and a hearty breakfast.

So I am available any time after tuesday,When are you arriving in town.

I will email you a phone number we should see whats richs schedule is and try to get this pinned down. For sure Gaurenteed I want this to happen

Excellent idea

Mac,

If you can get your Ottawa visit moved to the time surrounding August 25, 26, 27, you can travel with Doug and I. :naughty:

There's even room for Judy. Doug's driving my Z-71.

Here's your chance to see close to 10,000 Corvettes swallow up a small town. Should I post my panoramic Carlisle photo to help you decide? ;LOL

I'm posting the panoramic photo next, but first some of you may have a setting in Internet Explorer that automatically re-sizes large images........therefore, you won't get the full impact.

Correct it this way:
- in Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS (top of window)
- choose Internet Options
- choose tab named ADVANCED
- scroll down to MULTIMEDIA section
- remove tick mark (if any) beside ENABLE AUTOMATIC IMAGE RESIZING

Carlisle photo next.

Carlisle 2002, taken from the "mountain" roughly in the center of the grounds.

Don't forget to scroll right..................

It is impossible to see all the cars in any direction without a helicopter. You're only seeing about 1/2 of the cars there.
