Ladies and Gentlemen, Saturday was a big day for me. #2 Vette has arrived! I picked up the '60 Vette and it's home in the garage! Yesterday I completed the first two steps of the Mother's Wax three step process and I couldn't be happier with how the paint looks on my newest addition. My wife has already decided she likes the '60 best. Of course she's just saying that because it's a flop top and she misses the BMW Z-3 she traded in on a BMW 545i as a concession to recently becoming a grandmother. You can't disable the air bag on a Z-3 unless you want to do it permanently and she was torn between which was more dangerous; her riding shotgun with me driving and no air bag or her driving with our granddaughter with the airbag. So she bought herself a back seat and caused the necessity of me finding a nice Corvette Roadster.;) I can't wait to get home from work and get started on step #3 of the finishing process. I still love that '66 though so don't feel bad for it. Oh, and regarding being a new grandparent........I have no problem dealing with that. It's just the realization that I'm now married to a grandmother that's freaking me out! :D

Terry

congrats!!

I was actually thinking of you on Sat figuring that you were probably down at Conte's picking her up.
How did she drive on the way home or did you trailer her?

Barry

I drove it home and I was astounded as to how much attention that car draws compared to the '66. I was getting thumbs up from little kids through a pair of 70 something yard sale experts! She drives and stops nice and straight. I suppose it's largely due to the radial tires but I just didn't find the ride to be nearly as bad as I had been led to believe a straight axle ride would be. In fact, the only problem I see is getting in with the top up. I'm thinking maybe I'll dive in from the pasenger side as an alternative.:bu

Terry

glad to hear it's running fine.

forget worrying about getting in her with the top up - leave it down and only take her out on nice days!

would love to see her in person sometime.

I NEED one too!
:cry

Terry,

Nice cars. But no speeding on Doe Run Road in Corner Ketch! My family has lived on Doe Run since 1941. I remember when my Grandmother could tell you who was driving every car that went up and down that road.

You're right in your guess regarding the radial tires. When I bought my '58 it had bias-ply tires and driving it just the hour from Vallejo to Folsom wore me out. I've got Cokers on it now (wide white wall, of course) and they make a world of difference. Congrats!

Congrats on the new '60 and the new grandaughter. I'm sure you will spoil them both.

Tom

Terry,

Terry , Great looking vette the C-1 gets alot of attention on the road. I've owned mine since 1970 ENJOY!!!

The top is weaker than the photos indicate but the rest of the car is in damn good shape........body, paint, chrome, interior. I think this winter I will put a black top on it. I know, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla right? I think the black top will look super sano!

John,

I think it's a New Jersey car but who knows, stranger things have happened.:w

Re:

OK Terry, now I HAVE to come over!!!!

Regards,

Jim

PS: my father said to tell you, "now you know what it's like to ride in a REAL Corvette.."
