The following parts are purported to be from an 86 Corvette Coupe that was scrapped. I bought a big box of stuff off eBay to get two switches and an ashtray insert, and I'll be darned if I can ID most of the rest of this crap. The rules are: I'll show a picture that has one or more parts in it, plus some description. You tell me what it is. Whoever has the most correct, or at least apparently correct, wins the part of their choice... or something like that :) Anything shown here I probably have no need for, so if anyone does want something just let me know. I have larger versions of the photos, too.

#1. Two pieces of beige plastic that appear to connect together. A surround for part of the climate control?

#2. A large steel ?) bracket with a clamp. Charcoal cannister holder?

121.jpg

#3. Angled piece of aluminum (heat shield?).

122.jpg

#4. A pair of metal brackets with rubber inserts.

124.jpg

#5. An angled bracket with a slot at one end and a screwhole at the other, plus a white plastic part with a momentary-contact
pushbutton and a pair of contacts. I thought this might be the center-console hatch release button until I found one of those in the box as well.

#6. Metal tube with a round cylinder with a screen in it. Obviously a pickup of some sort - oil, gas? Plus a shaped metal tube
with a mounting bracket, attached to a rubber hose with a pressure fitting at one end. Fuel line?

126.jpg

#7. Misc support rods and a funny A-shaped bracket or spacer. Top one is aluminum, the rest are black painted something, and the 4th down on the left has a bolt on it.

127.jpg

#8. A single solitary piece of rubber or thin plastic, angled as you see here.

128.jpg

#9. Three electrical components. The top one I have two of; there's a metal bracket attached to it. No legible numbers or
markings on any except on the lower-right one, which says Delco-Ramy (very helpful). I can provide a larger shot of these since this one is almost illegible.

Most of the other parts I got I can ID. Couple of different hatch release buttons, wiper control switch, tiltwheel control stalk,
and either a brake or clutch pedal arm (no pad).

Thanks for playing :)

#4 are rear exhaust hangers! I know that one! Yay!
#6 lower hose (I think) is a power steering line.

number 5

number 5 is the angle bracket the helps stabilize the nose of the starter

#2 = Possibly the a/c condenser bracket?

#5 switch could be a clutch safety switch.

#7 = one of them is the distributor hold-down clamp, the others are bracketry for you alternator, a/c, etc.

#6 = The line may be for the cold start injector. The pipe is for the emissions system I believe, but I can't find a picture of one.

That's enough for me at the moment. Good luck identifying them. :upthumbs

#7, third down kinda reminds me of the center nose to lower airdam support. Then again, it could just be scrap metal for your local recycler.

#6 lower tube looks like a differential / transaxle vent line.

#7 A shape is a distributor hold down clamp.

Good luck!

#8 is a piece of support that goes between the front lower spoiler and the car bumper. You run the bolts up through the spoiler, through this support and then to the car. I know because I just replaced my spoiler last week.

Good luck on guessing the others.

#1. Two pieces of beige plastic that appear to connect together. A surround for part of the climate control?

It looks like the mounting brackets for the ECM, ??

#3. Angled piece of aluminum (heat shield?).

Maybe the pret cat heat shield?

#5. An angled bracket with a slot at one end and a screwhole at the other, plus a white plastic part with a momentary-contact
pushbutton and a pair of contacts. I thought this might be the center-console hatch release button until I found one of those in the box as well.

It is either the TCC release swtich or the clutch as stated above. I beleive they are the same part number.

#7. Misc support rods and a funny A-shaped bracket or spacer. Top one is aluminum, the rest are black painted something, and the 4th down on the left has a bolt on it.

Some of those brackets, look like the ones in the rear bumper cover, but I am not 100% sure.

#8. A single solitary piece of rubber or thin plastic, angled as you see here.

I agree this is the front spoiler

#9. Three electrical components. The top one I have two of; there's a metal bracket attached to it. No legible numbers or
markings on any except on the lower-right one, which says Delco-Ramy (very helpful). I can provide a larger shot of these since this one is almost illegible.

The lower left one, is the interior light timer

#6 Top is part of the emission's control as Kens states. It is located on the passenger side and is right next to the exhaust manifold right behind the AC compressor. :beer

Whew Over my head! SHOW ME A TIRE DING DING DING Lol

#5 is the Cruise disengage vac switch under the brake pedal.

The funny a shaped thingie in #7 is the distributer hold down

The bracket in #6 is for the starter (an extra brace)

in #9 the lower left one is the interior light dimmer/timer.

#1 is the ECM mounting bracket. I just saw it last weekend.
#2 looks like the canister bracket located in front of the belt tensioner??

I talked to my builder today and the pipe with the baffle/coarse screen and two-hole bracket in picture #6 is the diverter pipe for the AIR pump. It mounts to the right front of the engine in the downward position, that's why most people don't see it. ;)

Guys, this is great. Thanks for all the help so far; have a feeling I can get rid of most of these pieces, though now that I know what a few of them are I'll be keeping them.

Does anyone want/need any of them?
[RICHR]

Rich, between the two of us, we can start a junkyard for miscellaneous parts. :L

I could use a couple of 86+ window motors if yall know where to get some. ("yall"....heh....I live in California)

And, si, I know of these people everyone refers to as "Ecklers";)

I just like something for nothing (or next-to).

Florence Y'ALL

We have a watertower near here (in front of the Florence Mall) that says "Florence Y'ALL". Redneck heaven here in the middle of Friggin nowhere!
