Does anyone know of any companies that make a fixture or device of some kind to place under the rear in order to jack the car up off the ground? I thought I had seen such a piece several years back that would fit on an existing floor jack pad. I have checked Mid America and Ecklers and have found nothing so far.

Giving a lift

Hi Len,

In an old Mid- America catalog I may or may not have found what your looking for.
They call it a Jack Insert . Part number 609-142.
According to the write up you remove the jacks cradle and put this on in its place ,But you still lift from the frame jacking points.

Hope this helps,
Barry :pat

I used my floor jack and a 2x6. placed the jack and 2x6 just under the front of the spare tire carrier. I made sure that I was only jacking up from the tire carrier and not anything else. Worked well to get floor jacks under there. Will be doing it agian this weekend to replace rear wheel bearings.

Thanks everyone for the input. The Corvette gadget man part is just what I was looking for.
