Can anyone help me with this? My 82 has cross fire injection and that works just fine (realizing I'm probably on of the few that have no issues with cross fire injection) what I want to know is this...I want to bypass the solenoid that operates the vent door that feeds air to the hood cowl and ultimately the fuel. The solenoid is suppose to open when the accelarator pedal is pushed to the floor but it does not work. I prefer not to have to fix it if I do not have to but would rather want it open all the time. I'm thinking that it will do no harm whatsoever but not sure and having the added cool air helping overall performance. Am I wrong with this thought process?

Welcome to the CAC.

You could do what I did and that's to remove the flapper door and solenoid. Never had any problems even in the winter and also have the heat riser blocked open. :thumb

The two flaps on my 84 work just fine, but if they were to go bad, I'd do what 73shark says. :w
