I never really planned to buy a 'Vette, although I always wanted one. Well, this one just appeared in front of me one day and said "Buy Me!" so I did. Love it.

95 LT-1, very stock, runs great, and not sure what I am going to do with it, but it makes driving around here at the NC coast a lot more fun.

Hello and welcome !

You have many enoyable miles ahead of you ! I would also like to invite you to join us in the Regional Enthusiats, in the Southeast region ! We are a fairly active group, with lot's of get together's ! Keep Smilin' and Wavin' ! BTW, what part of the NC coast are you from ? My Mother still has some property in Carteret county, just outside of Morehead city !

I am retired on Oak Island, south of Wilmington, but I have spent a lot of time at Morehead / Atlantic Beach.

Thanks for the welcome here!

Be careful driving the Corvette on Oak Island. In '96 my son, a student at UNCW, had a tree jump into road in front of him while driving on Oak Island! At least that is how he explained the accident which totaled my '90 Mazda 626 GT. So please be careful of those "jumping" trees which seem to grow there.

Yes, I have seen those trees, although they tend to jump only during hurricanes, of which we seem to get more than our share.

The unfortunate thing about Oak Island is that the speed limit is mostly 35, some 45, and we have a very large police dept.

Look on a map of NC. Follow I40 about 120 miles west (in reality nearly due north of Wilmington). You will see Clayton. We get the same hurricanes. Fran actually did a whole lot more damage in Johnston County than in Wilmington. Cost me $45k out of pocket to restore my property after Fran. But that was nothing compared to what it did to coastal property north of Wilmington. Topsail was destroyed. I think Oak Island received more damage from Floyd than Fran. NC gets hit by more hurricanes than FL. We were just lucky this year.

Oh, I know Clayton. I live in Raleigh for about 8 years. I was there for Fran, and yes the damage was worse in the Raleigh area than at the beach. Luckily, this year wasn't bad at all for us - a little wind from Charlie, a few trees down, and that's all. Of course, if I have to evacuate, the 'Vette goes first!

Bob, welcome to the CAC. As was said by DRTH VTR, drive it is the correct answer. :D

My wife has an aunt and uncle in Southport but we have yet to stop by and see them and we vacation in Emerald Isle during July. Great area. Feel free to ask the questions as they come up.
