Welcome:w
The surging can be caused by a vaccum leak somewhere in the intake manifold, runners, plentum or T/B
I am the proud owner of 2 89s:upthumbs

hi name is ken 89 white rag top its got idle surging have put a 1000.00 in it and it will not stop doing it if anyone can help let me know at gunslinger3801@aol.com

Sounds like maybe a vacume leak; have you checked :confused around the intake manifold for leaks?

Just a thought,

I like my bacon crisp, 2 eggs over well, whole wheat toast with grape jelly. . . and coffee will be fine.

It does sound like a vacume leak around the intake somewhere to me. . . . .
