My brother calls me up tonight at about 7:30, asks if I am doing anything...
Since I was already elbow deep in a project, he had to come up with something good - "how about following me down to Richmond, and then giving me a ride back" , he says...
yeah right :eek
Well, he twisted my arm and we went for a ride - We show up at a warehouse, modest looking but nice :cool
Once inside, there were about 4 or 5 Saleen Mustangs there, and a few other semi-notable cars...
The one in the back caught my eye
1989 SSC 002 - the "Press Car"
Up close & personal, the car had a "press car" ECM laying in the back seat, hmmm - was it a ringer??
Further investigation was the ECM has "special" programming inside, different than production.
That car was in better shape than expected, especially after seeing a lot of seat time by auto journalists
We discussed a photo shoot recreation with an 89 bright red B2K, don't think we would have trouble finding one
I think if that car, and Callaway 1989-005 ever got together (again) it would be neat - doubtful though it would happen, as 89-005 is on the West coast
Anyone interested in pictures?? If so, I may be back down there this weekend to pick up the car we dropped off...
Enjoy
