Just thinking ...Any gear heads out there?

What's it going to take to put an LS-6 into an 87 C-4? How about a 69 427 into a pre 90's C-4 ? I am designing my new garage (60' x 50') and just thinking of the next project to under take when its complete. I already have a second gen TA with C-5 running gear and suspension in the works. It should be a cool sleeper when completed. Any thoughts from the gear heads? :W

Are there no gear heads here?

I thought that surely someone in this forum was a gear head! I guess not;LOL

from what I learned , everything is possible
question is , if it has a sense
if it has for you , do it .
Gearheads usually not inna forum but inna garage
you know how much work you gara do when redesigning engine mounts for example :)

Hey, I'm a gearhead, but I don't know squat about transplanting a LS-6 into a C4. As has already been said, anything's possible if you really want it. :upthumbs

I think it'd be a cool swap; not only could you kick butt, but you would have an interesting conversation topic everyhwere you go. People will come out of the woodwirk to see what you've done and how you did it. :cool

Ken, there's no doubt that your a gearhead! I often search your post's on any issues the I may have with the C-4 as your's are right-on, no B.S. answers.

I also am a gearhead with years of experence with NASCAR , ARCA, NHRA and good ole street rods, hell I even own a Jaguar! :Jso I'm no stranger to "figer'n" it out! I think I will try the swap soon and maybe post how it's going with pic's. Now all I have to do is find something to put the big block 427 into.

I believe most of the folks on here are very careful to limit their comments to something they have some experience in. Thus, a lack of response doesn't necessarily mean folks aren't good mechanically, just that they can't comment with experience.

Personally, I'd rather have no comments at all than a lot of comments by folks who are just guessing or speculating.

Stuffing a 427 into an early C-4 would probably be possible but would require some major mods to both the mounts and hood. Nevertheless, it would be nifty to have a C-4 with a straight-out-of-the-box, pre-computerized BB mill. I'll be interested in watching you go through the steps to accomplish it.

I was asking for thoughts on doing such a project.I don't know that it's been done yet so I am sure it will be a challange......That's 90% of the fun . Looks like it will be a GEN III LS-6:W ....Now I just have to finish the design for the shop and get it built.

I want to put multiple throttle bodies on mine, similar to the Webers. :cool
