With my Corvette, Obsession. :cool

Yesterday I put about a hundred miles on it, both on freeway as well as surface streets around LA, and I managed to do it without having to call the AAA once! :L

I went out to the eastern San Fernando Valley yesterday to check out the Saturday cruise-in at the Fuddrucker's in Pasadena.

I was still a little apprehensive about going out that far yet. I still wasn't completely satisfied that everything was under control, and that I could trust it for any distance. I called other guys from around here to see if anyone would run out with me, but couldn't find any takers. ;shrug

It turned out that the car ran absolutely the best it's run since it was in stock form, in the sense that it was running cool, it was charging properly, it wasn't leaking, and it was starting dependably. :upthumbs

It is however, much more powerful than it was when it was stock. It hauls as well as it handles! :lou
I had a ball! :Steer

Sounds good, Ken. But the million dollar question is: did you stop in Fudds and have an Ostrich burger?:L

You'll probably never be completely satisfied with the car. You'll never get to that highest level because there will be something else that can be tweaked a little better.:D

Funny you should mention that. :L

I wish I that I could have taken my camera, but I had let the batteries go dead without recharging them in a while. :(

A friend of mine was there with his blown '69 big-block Camaro, and I was telling him about how I'd like to install either an exotic multiple throttle body setup or the Hilborn or Kinsler-style injector stacks. Of course, hood clearance then becomes an issue but ... :L

I think hood clearance would be the last of your concerns!:L Run without a hood if you have to.:D I know you've seen that done before.:D

My neighbor has a '69 Camaro with a punched over 396 in it, it also has a shot of NOS. He's working on a '68 Camaro now and was saying that he's ordering a brake upgrade kit for it this week and hopefully, he'll install it this weekend.

The driver side quarter panel on his '69 needs work because the wheel fell off last summer while he was driving. It was just some body damage. But he's trading a 327 block for that body work. He's got some big ol' Hoosiers in the back and skinny's on the front.

He's had his '79 Corvette for 13 years and I've never seen him drive it.

That's the joy of owning a Vette, it is never status quo, there is always something on the horizon that you want to up date or modify, it's always a work in progress--Love IT!!!

That's great news Ken! How long exactly is it, since it's been stock? ;)

I'm in my what, second year on it now Colin. It's finally coming together. :L

Ken,

Hope this isn't the eye of the storm and that things stay good for ya.

Happy motoring.

I'm with the Sullster, on his post and with Ken all the way on the evolution.

I, too, have been venturing out farther and farther, but have a peaceful, easy, feeling that she's okay for whatever. The old BFGs are rather hard and slippery, but all that juice is sure nice to have. I am finding the car not as thirsty as I had first thought.

The BFG R-1s came today; 2-315s, 2-335s. Man, those 335s are wide suckers!
:w

Sounds like a great day Ken. Actually anytime you drive away from your house and drive back up to your house its a good thing. :L

Thanks guys. :w

Mike, I'm always working on the big meat thing for mine too. Just ain't got the dough yet. :(

In the meantime my slicks are back on. ;)
