Just parked my vette with 99,999 miles in the garage. I thought about the last 8k miles I have driven it. since I bought it with 92k last year, it is a great car, a great legend. It is the finest car I have ever owned.

Never knew they had a electronic odometer reading. Can this be easily reset? Seems like it could be a concern if someone is buying a used Vette.

it is tough to re-set.

On the C5's it is even harder... it is stored in 3 locations on them... one guy had a C5 on lease, and the dash kept re-setting to 1876 miles every time he shut the car off.... he drove the car for a year, and racked up 30k on it, thinking he would get away with free lease miles.

He finally took the car in to get the dash fixed, and 30k showed up on the dash... that guy was in for some big $$$ in all those miles!

it is kind of hard to reset odometer, although you can replace the computers you could replace a mechanical odometer with one from another car, or if your speed-o-meter (I wasn't an english major) reads off the odometer will be off. you really can't trust just what the odometer says, you need to look at the vehicle and see if it "says" about the same thing.
