New to the forum....own a 1981 Black/Camel Vette....not perfect but I love it.

Just starting some projects and started looking for advice from all you "pros" that have done these things before. I'm not a mechanic so I ask for patience when I ask a question.

Started the carpet replacement project this past weekend.....bough the Willcox package...looks really nice

Next is the weatherstripping and then finally want to spruce up the engine with a little "flash".

Looking forward to your input and help.
I was going to insert a few pics but not sure how it works.

I'm certainly not a mechanic, but I know there are others who can jump in and lend a hand, if needed.

Welcome...

Hi, Wolfgang! Welcome to CAC! :upthumbs

Heard some good things about Wilcox. Maybe you could post some pics as you go along.

Don't forget to SAVE THE :w

Well, here are some pics finally. Haven't been able to work much on it but this is like anything else...you start a relatively small job and it explodes into many monumental tasks.....

Started by saying I was doing the carpeting......so...

took out the passenger seat...saw he plastic was messy and started dying them base and back......and that was good

took out all the small pieces and carpeting them in the garage.......like the speakers, the kickpanels, the center console sides...and that was good

took out the rear carpeting and put down the reflectix...and that was good

saw the trim around the rear window and the seatbelt pillars were worn.......took them out and started dyeing them.....and that was good

took the t-top center trim and the front header trim and the side pillar trim out because now they had to match....dyed them...and that was good

took out the driver side seat.....started dying them to match all the other stuff....and that was good

took out the driver side carpeting.....saw the floor pan....and that was BAD....
it seems to have been repaired once before...probably not really well and not sealed so it just rusted out again and now I have to deal with it.

Just tried to attach some pics and it wouldn't allow it......I will check it out and try again.

Wolfgang
