Not a Rustang! Anything but a Rustang!:(
The problem has been that the quality of the Mustang seems to be better than the quality of the C5 Corvette. I have 46,000 mile on my wifes 98 Mustang. The only problem is the odometer quit working last week. My daughters 01 Mustang GT Bullitt, has 19,000 miles on it. It has never needed any repairs. My 99 Corvette with 19,600 miles, had a steering column lock problem, rear axle seal leak, a bad power window motor. Along with that, as you drove down the street the position of the steering wheel changed. Figure that one out. I sold it, and bought a 2004 Corvette. at 4,000 miles, steering column lock recall, and a recall on some washers for the suspension. The 2004 is not off to a good start. I am starting to thing there is a Mustang in my future.

I had a 2003 350Z and a 2004 SVT Cobra. I have a 2004 base coupe now and I would'nt traded it for both of those cars. Granted both of these cars were very nice in their own right-but they were not the quality and appeal of my 04.

I'd make the necessary repairs to your 98 and maybe later on consider a trade for a 2006 Z06 (if they make one).

Just my 2 cents.

The steering column lock problem and the fuel gauge problem are fixed under the current re-call for free. The PCM update fixes the fuel gauge in most cases I'm told. A/C vent problem I know nothing about. That is a mighty short list to even consider ditching this car. But to each his own, the stang isn't even in the same class IMHO, and it is a F-O-R-D :puke

Yes - You are nuts :Silly .

Yes - I would trade in the Vette, but for a newer or new Vette. I would also go with the GMPP extended warranty. It is good at any Chevy store around the country. Right now you can get $3000.00 rebate and/or 72 months at 0% on new ones!! The interest savings would more than cover the cost of the warranty.

Good Luck!!
