One day, as I was fiddling with the laptop, just becoming familiar with the TEC3 system, I noticed that when I stood on the pedal - all the way to the floor, it (the reading, not the blades) hung up at full voltage. If I blipped the pedal a couple of times it would return to its normal range and function properly until I stood on it again. I should mention that all of this experimenting was done with the engine off! :L
I discovered that the tab the TPS uses to engage the throttle blade tab was rubbing against the throttle body when fully open, and sticking there when the blades returned closed. As far as I know it never occured while I was driving it, mainly due to the fact that I'm not sure I ever had it wide open and to the floor while driving.
Anyway, the fix was easy - I removed the TPS and filed some excess material away from the tab, as well as de-burring the throttle body in that area.![]()
