I have a kill switch that disables my car (anti-theft device) and if it is engaged, the engine has to be reset before I can start my car. I know the hard way-disconnect the black battery cable for a minute or so. It also resets after a few minutes. Is there another way???
Thanks in advance,
bm

My '84 has an orange wire, with a disconnect. It is the power to the ECM and connects to the positive battery terminal; lies near to it.

10 seconds should do it.

Sounds like the right way to do this, though, is to have the kill switch connected another way; one that does not kill power to the ECM all the time. The ECM 'learns' your engine and saves the adjustment. The car should run better without being reset all the time.

I installed the cut off switch available from Mid America, on my battery's negative side....just a twist of the knob and all is done....
Just my thoughts.
