Kitten survives 180-mile ride trapped in Chevy Corvette’s engine bay

WAPT News

JACKSON, Miss. — A kitten is looking for a forever home after she rode about 180 miles trapped inside a car engine.

The driver of a 2007 Corvette was traveling from New Orleans to Memphis recently, but kept hearing a noise coming from inside the engine. He stopped at Howard Wilson Dodge in Flowood, and mechanics discovered that the kitten was trapped behind the firewall, between the engine and the dashboard, said Elizabeth Jackson of the Animal Rescue Fund of Mississippi.

"We looked down in the area where she was and you could see him," said Jodi McHenry, of Howard Wilson Dodge.

The mechanics had to take the front end of the Corvette off to free the kitten, Jackson said.

They removed the right front inner fender well.

But, still needs a new home. Vette owner was not interested.

Glad the Kitty is safe.
Who paid for the labor?
