i have this little habit of leaving my scan tool on while driving on the lonely hiways ups hear .first off car throws not codes . i am driving and look down and its showing 3,4 deg of knock retard while driving on perfectly flat road . it will go 1-4,3,2 ..on a trip to ridgecrest from lone pinewhich is down hill it hit the knock sensor 187 times on the way back -up hill it hit 35 times . wtf . could be going on iknow its got good gas . i even put in 100 oct out of my own 300 gallon container before i left last time .. my blk zr1 might through the knock 10-15 times on a round trip. the car has new plugs and wires . my scann tool has brand new batts. any ideas ???????????????????

HI there,
It is possible the piezo resistor is loose inside the sensor.
Frequency is really the telling sign on this, because the sensor picks up vibration, not just engine knock.
So, that being said, you may have a bad sensor.
The key would be to monitor frequency from left to right to determine what is going on.
