Know Your 2005 Corvette
Top Operation
To Remove the Top: There are two latches on the front part of the panel and one latch in the middle of the panel.
Convertible Manual Top
To Lower the Top:
To Lower the Convertible Power Top:
The vehicle must be in Park (with an automatic transmission) or the parking brake must be set (with a manual transmission) in order to operate the convertible power top. The vehicle's engine must be running or in the accessory position. The trunk must be closed and the trunk partition must be in the fastened, upright position.

Top Operation
To Remove the Top: There are two latches on the front part of the panel and one latch in the middle of the panel.
- Lower the windows.
- Pull down and turn the front handles to release the front latches.
- To unlock the rear of the panel, press the Latch Release button and pull down the latch.
- Lift the front edge of the panel up and forward out of the vehicle opening.
Convertible Manual Top
To Lower the Top:
- Unlock the front of the top by lowering the center latch handle and turning it inward. The driver's and passenger's door glass also will fully retract.
- Lift the front edge of the top off the windshield frame and the rear edge off the storage compartment.
- To lift the tonneau cover, press the release button located on the underside of the cover behind the driver's seat. The cover will not release if the vehicle is locked or the trunk lid is open.
- Allow the rear edge of the convertible top to move to its full-down position; then move the top rearward so it is fully stowed in the storage compartment. The top must be fully retracted before closing the storage compartment lid.
To Lower the Convertible Power Top:
The vehicle must be in Park (with an automatic transmission) or the parking brake must be set (with a manual transmission) in order to operate the convertible power top. The vehicle's engine must be running or in the accessory position. The trunk must be closed and the trunk partition must be in the fastened, upright position.
- Release the top front latch by pulling and turning it clockwise.
- Push and hold the Convertible Top button, located on the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel. A chime will sound when the convertible top has lowered completely.
