Interesting -- I always thought there was more vibration in the drivetrain of my '59 than there should be; wonder if that's what it is.

Yes. It is interesting. I wonder if they built thins change into the '60-'62 housings by re-angling the spring pads on the housings? If so, that means that all '59-'62 axle housings were not created equal. '59 would be a one year only.
