Has anyone had any experiences with either the Kumho ECSTA SPT, Kumho ECSTA ASX, and Essenza EVO-Z tires? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Don

I have new ECSTA ASX tires sitting down at the garage waiting to be mounted. I took a look at them and really like the looks of them. They have the progressive thread size design for lower noise and two large water channels about three inches apart. The tread wraps around the sides and looks very nice in my opinion. Sometime this week I will have them mounted and take them for a test drive. I will post when that happens. If you really want to know what they look like I could stop and take a couple of pictures and post them.

there are reviews on www.tirerack.com

PS the tires are costing me about $135 each mounted balanced with road hazard.

I put Kumho Ecsta ASX's on mine just before Christmas!! I'll never run another GoodYear RunCrap!! No Rumble,Great Snow Traction,Great Wet Pavement Traction,I lost very little in High Speed handling!!! I have a little over 6,000 miles on them and they Show very little ware!! Oh did I say they are Smooth and Quiet!!:upthumbs

I have the ASX's and they provide very good grip. are very quiet, and yes they look great.

I bought the Kumho ecsta supra last spring and have been very happy with them especially the price they ride great and I can now hear my radio

Glenn,

thank you for the feedback!! I've done quite a bit of research on these tires(tirerack.com) but you really never know for sure until you hear first hand opinions form fellow Vette owners. :D

Pictures of mounted tires would be great if not too much trouble.

I don't believe that I've read a bad review about Kumho tires on this board or any other board that I can remember. I might go with them the next time I need tires.

Kumho 712

I also have the Kumho Ecstra tires I have been running them about two years now and have 15K on them. As others have said they have good traction wet or dry. I have noticed that if they are not up to temperature on winter roads they are a little loose. The tire gives good feed back and does not seem to break away suddenly. One thing that they are not good for is snow. I have been caught out when the weather changes and the roads become slick. In those conditions it gives a whole new meaning to driving slow and not being in control. Would I buy them again yes I would buy the Kumho but probable with a all season tread pattern.:w

Living in Minnesota I did notice last fall when the weather got colder the khumos would spin a little easier but on the same token in the summer when it was hot they would hardly spin at all much stickier than the old oem gatorbacks [25000 miles] as for winter driving I don't think you will find any tire in the stock sizes that will work well something about power to weight ratio i think

the pictures

I had the tires mounted this afternoon. I like the looks of the thread even better after they are mounted. I did have my fears varified, one right side rim is bent.At this point I am not sure what to do,send out to be straightened or try to find another rim. My rims are in need of refinishing.Given the amount of time I have before cruisefest I may have to deal with it afterwards. Once I have driven it with the tires I will let you know what I think. the tires have zero miles on them now.

Glenn,

You're right, the tire tread does look pretty good. I think these are the tires that I'm going to be purchasing in the near future. Thank you for your valued input and photos.:upthumbs

I could be so lucky? Went right out and took a pic. If it is the right one let me know the price. Thank you.
