275-40-17 Kumho's $110 each

I think I may try them on my 96 Z51. anybody go wrong for $110 each ????

even if they only last 1 year, I wouldn't feel bad at all........

any negative comments on them??? I've heard plenty of positive comments.

I don`t know about the 275/40/17 and I hope they have a zr rating. I did have kumhos on a mustang gt that a goodyear dealer talked me into trying and turned out to be good.Right now I have new goodyears on my vett but when I need new tires I will try kumhos again if they are ZR rated. Let me know how you make out if you try them.

I just bought Avon ZZ1's as they were on the back of my 84 and I wanted them to match. They stick really good and were priced very nice at 159 each for 255/50ZR16 99W.

In a word.... Firestone...SZ-50's best tire I have ever had. Sticks like glue in wet or dry conditions...see the review at www.tirerack.com

wait until it reaches 32* outside and the SZ50's turn into HARD rubber. You'll be spinning them tires at every red light. Never again for me :)

I did...last year here in Northeast Ohio...never had a problem.

Side note: To make the degree symbol hold the alt button and then type 167...º. Many other symbols are available from your character map in windows.

I bought the Kuhmos for the front of my car.... They work great, especially for the price... At the Ecklers show I looked around a bit and found that they were on C4's all over the place!!! these tires are great, especially for the money... there is no doubt you can get a better tire, but I don't think there is a better bang for the buck

I bought two Z rated Kumho's for the back of mine. They work great and balanced out well.

The key is two plane balance. Ensure that they are balanced with weights inboard AND outboard. Too many tire shops want to use weights ONLY on the inside lip because they get tired of people complaining about scratching their alloy wheels.

I sometimes use clip weights and do scratch the wheel, believing that this is a small price to pay for properly balanced, smooth running wheels.

If you can find a tech that will bother with it, he can use tape weights just behind the spokes. Be careful and ensure that they do not interfere with the brake calipers. On my sixteen inch wheels, I use .100" thick tape weights and know just where to put them to prevent caliper interference.

I got so frustrated over the tire stores doing this, that I bought a used Coats 1001 computer balancer and I just do them myself. I can take whatever time necessary and get a great job. I don't have to frustrate myself dealing with these goobers or spend time drinking the gooey coffee they have at the tire store.

BTW: I bought my Kumho's from tire rack for under $90.

Good luck,

I have Kumho's on my '00. After about 7,000 miles, no problems so far.

Next year Kumho tires will be replacing my Goodyear XGT VR4's. The tirerack shows a Y (ZR) tire for 89$ and thats like 600 Canadian....I can't replace my JEEPS tires for that and the reviews are wonderful!

They also look great! Real race car looking and by the reviews they seem race car feeling to!

Have had KUMOH on my -90 Cupe for almost a year. Exelent tires, good prise, and they look good.

I bought a set of Etoile wheels (used ) 17"'s and I guess I better check into the Kumho's ....I will need the 315 /35's for the rear I wonder if they have that size?

I just finished a track day in the rain on my Kumhos. Very predictable in the wet, very grippy (I shocked myself a couple times on how fast I was able to corner). Very little visible edge wear even after about 70 miles of trackwork. I'm using the 275/40 17's.
