L 82 tags

I've been curious about the L-82 emblems on the hood. My 79 does not have them but I have seen them on other cars. Two questions.
1. Should my car have had them ?
2. If not, what years were they a stock item on ?

I had a 79 L82 and the "tags" were standard. I believe that 77-79 w/L-82 came equiped with the tags. I find it odd that yours were MIA!!

Does you car have the L82 logo on the tachometer?

The car was painted about 12 years ago by the previous owner. I have known the car since 1983 and am the 3rd owner. I don't ever recall seeing those tags but they may have been omitted when it was painted by the original owner as I think the car was in an accident with him and the hood may have been replaced.
Are the tags a stick-on or bolt-on?
The tach shows L82 and verified by VIN.

Good! I've run across a few poor souls who thought they had an L82, but didn't...

You can buy replacement badges from almost any of the catalog vendors. (Of course, they sell L48 hood badges too...I always smile when I see a set of those!)
