L81 rear main seal

I am getting ready to replace the rear main seal on a L81 and am looking for tips. Is it a pain to get the old one out? Anything to watch out for?

Just follow the GM Shop Manual procedure to the letter, with particular attention to the section where it shows to clean the mating cap surfaces thoroughly and apply sealer on those surfaces when you put the main cap back on (and make sure you put the seal halves in correctly - the lip side goes toward the front of the engine).
