L82 Hood emblems on '78

Hi, new member here, first time online . My 78 silver anniv. doesn't have the L82 emblems on the hood, but the car is an L82. I just got the emblems, but I need to find out exactly where to drill to mount them. Is there any tech pictures with a diagram of the hood? Can anyone tell me where to mount them?

Welcome to Corvette Action Center.
I have no clue as to where to mount the hood emblems. Perhaps you could check photos of Corvette hoods with emblems and guestimate it?
My best advice would be to check the NCRS site for factual measurements.
Anyhow, glad to have you (and another 78SA!) come back often.

I have a page in my assembly manual (1978) on L-82 hood emblems.

Unfortunately, it appears to only have measurements for the mounting hole distances, not how far from the end of the hood.
The picture is clear and I think it would give you a good reference for mounting. Would you like me to try to scan it and email it to you?

Don't drill the holes. The studs on the back of the emblems are just for location purposes. They do nothing to hold the emblem on. It is the tape/adhesive that hold the emblem on. Just grind the studs off then install the emblems. If you get them off a bit you can always relocate them, no holes!

Page 58 Tiltle Hood:

Only the L82 utilized a hood emblem.
This emblem was placed on the sides of the power bulge
approximately SIX INCHES from the rear hood edge.
