Hey Gang!!

I just have a quick question. Are they weather proofing kits for t-top? If so do they make ones that actually go on the removeable sections rather than on the crome plate the tops sit on? Could anyone reccomend and inexpensive and effective one?

Thanks again,
the new guy,
Nate

Nate..Welcome to CAC...

Are you talking about simple weatherstripping kits? Their NOT inexpensive, thats for sure and any after market daler has them,Corvette Central, Mid America, Year One, Paragon etc.....

Are you saying that your weatherstripping IS attached to the chrome plate? What has someone done to your 'vette?!
All Corvette weatherstripping (for the C3 tops) is supposed to attach to the tops. Not the chrome center support, not the front top of the windshield and not the back of the top opening. There are additionial pieces in the full kits for the front windshield pillar and the back side pillar in addition to the doors and sometimes the hood.
Check any Corvette catalog for the kits. Sorry, but I don't find them very inexpensive...however, they are worth their cost. I care for mine with di-electric grease twice a year.

OK Heidi, I give, what is dielectric grease. I ask because I had been told to spray the seals with rain-x periodically to help the windows open and close.

:)

Richard

It comes in a tube and is usually used on sparkplug wires and the cap/rotor to eliminate moisture. (seal it out)

I spread it on my w/s and use a cloth to rub it in and take off the excess.

Cool, thanks Heidi :)

You can tighten your T-Tops with a wrench. That made a difference for me.Your weatherstripping is attached to your Tops themselves.
